Byron bay

Needed to get to Byron today. Didn't get up til 8:45 but didn't feel like I slept much. Tidied up the car and left the campsite. I stopped us at Coolangatta and Tweed to have a look around without passing everything by. Beautiful beach but the sun wasn't out. Walked around the headland passing between NSW and QL. They have a lot of plaques around the walk in memory of ships that were destroyed or sank in the war. They seem to do a lot if memorials which I think is rely nice. Also one in memory of Captain Cook. I also love the trees. They look like they've had a shock! Back to the car and we got our cool box out to have some lunch. 

Arrived to our hostel in Byron called Cape Byron Lodge, every bed is taken, this town is full! Walked about 15mins into town and looked in shops. I got some red ankle wellies for Splendour as it's supposed to rain today/tonight. The queues of people waiting for a bus to the festival was mad, even this late in the day. We don't know whether we want to go so early as Lilly Allen isn't on til 11pm so we'd have to last a full 12 hours. Had a couple of drinks because we couldn't think of or do much as we shattered. Then walked back stopping at woolworths, slightly drunk off a few ciders. Felt like it should be much later than 4pm. Ate, showered and plaited hair. found out I'm crap at it!
